Cross-Play Features
New World: Aeternum supports cross-play features.

How do I activate cross-play? Is it on by default on every server?

Yes, cross-play is on by default. Players on PlayStation 5 can create characters on Standard - PlayStation Only Worlds, while players on Xbox Series X|S can create characters on Standard - Xbox Series X|S Only Worlds. These Worlds will only be accessible by players on their respective platforms and will not allow cross-play with other platforms. For example, players on Standard - PlayStation Only Worlds can only play with characters on Standard - PlayStation Only Worlds.

Players will need to first turn the cross-play setting off in order to see platform specific worlds. Platform specific worlds will not be visible when cross-play is set to on. Cross-play is turned on by default. It can be turned off in the Social tab in Settings under Cross-Play.

Can I opt out of cross-play?

No. The only exception is if you're playing on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S only servers.

How does cross-play work?

Cross-play allows you to play, talk, and trade with other players regardless of the platform you're on. Cross-play is enabled across the game.

Does cross-play progression carry over when playing on another platform?

No, New World: Aeternum doesn’t support cross progression. Your progress is limited to the platform that you're playing on.
