The 'THRONE AND LIBERTY' Wilds of Talandre Free Expansion Marks the Game’s Next Evolution

6-Mar-2025

On March 6, players everywhere can experience “Wilds of Talandre,” THRONE AND LIBERTY’s first free expansion and largest update to date. The addition of the zone, Talandre, doubles the map size of Solisium but a new zone isn’t the only addition. “Wilds of Talandre” also brings a ton of new content to the game throughout the month of March, including five of THRONE AND LIBERTY’s most challenging co-op dungeons, a multi-boss solo dungeon experience, a new level cap increase to 55 and Tier 2 gear progression, new systems like Weapon Mastery and the Artifact system, Nebula Island, trait resonance, and much more.

For more information on the new content and a rundown on everything in the expansion, fans can check out the latest installment of Eye on Solisium and visit the “Wilds of Talandre” release notes page.

“This expansion represents THRONE AND LIBERTY’s biggest release to date,” said Daniel Lafuente, Globalization Design Manager at Amazon Games. “Not only does it deliver months of exciting new content, but it also introduces significant improvements to core systems addressing player feedback - from gear acquisition to combat fluidity to solo experiences. And all of this will be available for players, absolutely free, on March 6 and we can’t wait for players to experience it.”

Just as the global launch saw THRONE AND LIBERTY evolve considerably based on player feedback from the Korean version, "Wilds of Talandre" continues that theme. Players can expect several profound improvements with the update. “We've implemented numerous meaningful improvements to enhance the player experience,” said Lafuente. “These include multi-chest opening in dungeons, flexible Weapon Mastery experience distribution, a new gear level syncing system, streamlined crafting materials, and a revamped weekly mission system offering more player choice.” Additionally, field bosses have been transformed into instanced battles to create a more balanced playing field. These changes are just a glimpse of what players can discover when they return to explore “Wilds of Talandre,” and more detail on these changes can be found in the most recent Tico Talks video.

Among those under-the-hood changes to the game are updates to THRONE AND LIBERTY’s combat. “Combat has been a major focus of our recent improvements,” said Lafuente. “While THRONE AND LIBERTY's combat system has always delivered satisfying skill impacts and build diversity, we've enhanced core functionality to address player feedback. This includes more fluid movement, improved tab targeting, precise click targeting, and expanded customization options to help players fine-tune their combat experience.” For more detail on how the combat has changed through the “Wilds of Talandre” expansion, check out these videos from our community team.

These updates, guided by player feedback, have resulted in a significantly upgraded experience for players. THRONE AND LIBERTY looks much different today than it did when it launched last October. “Whether you're a returning player or someone who never left, “Wilds of Talandre” dramatically expands opportunities to enjoy your favorite aspects of the game,” said Lafuente. “We've improved gear acquisition paths, added significant build diversity through our new Weapon Mastery system, introduced solo dungeons, expanded lifestyle content, and added multiple new player-versus-player (PvP) experiences. Not to mention our most challenging co-op dungeons yet.”

And while this latest expansion marks a major evolutionary moment for THRONE AND LIBERTY, it won’t be the last. The relationship between players sharing their thoughts and the teams at NCSOFT and Amazon Games evolving the game based on that input will continue to guide development into the future. “Looking beyond Talandre, we're continuing to refine core systems,” said Lafuente. “For example, in early April, we're introducing an improved Runes experience with a streamlined user interface and automatic management features, eliminating tedious inventory management. We're also finding additional ways for players to engage in the game without combat through things like our upcoming achievement system.” This represents the ongoing commitment between NCSOFT and Amazon Games to their players to not just deliver new content but also to refine and enhance existing systems that players enjoy. “Ultimately, THRONE AND LIBERTY belongs to the players, and our job is to make sure they're having the best experience possible,” said Lafuente. “There's nothing more important to us than getting critical feedback and making positive changes to consistently improve the game for our players.”
